The plenipotentiary ambassador of Azerbaijan in Kazakhstan Mr. Latif Gandilov "Soon all of us together shall mark the 10th anniversary of Astana. Why together? Because 5 years of my life have passed in this city. It almost half of the capital's age! Is it a lot or a little? It is not enough to make history, but look around you and you will see how much of it was made during this time by the hands people of Astana.
I remember November 2000 when for the very first time have I have stepped on this ground. It was a small, still provincial, town. But that Astana represents today, in 2008, does not even compare. It is a modern and beautiful city which is equally good both in the winter and in the summer because people invested in it their heart, soul and love.
Astana today, I am not afraid to say, is one of the best cities of Eurasia. I. Astana belongs to the young which, despite of a heat and a cold, are building this city. I wish for Astana to become the city of hopes and dreams coming true, and that the Kazakhstan capital will on the same height as its symbol - Baiterek.
